Here is the first paragraph from a famous sermon preached by the Great Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman while he was still an Anglican!  After reading the rest of the sermon please go to the site Newman Reader and acquaint yourself with more of his works.  One of my favorites is Callista.  This is a novel about life in the early Church.  It shows Newman’s profound grasp of early Church history and the life setting of the people whose lives played out during it.  Enjoy!
